What does a volunteer do?
There are several roles for a volunteer, whether promotion, interacting, being a Recurring Panelist or even a Shoulder. Any volunteer help is appreciated and welcome.
What are the specific roles?
Guest Engagement & Guest Panelist roles require no sign up or application process. Simply regularly watch our shows and engage through the chat. To be a Guest Panelist, contact ESV and request to be a panelist on a specific topic. Some “Open” shows even provide a live link during the stream where you can just click and join. If you start to make an impression, we may reach out to you to be a Recurring Panelist or Shoulder as well. If you feel you’ve been making an impression and we have failed to reach out to you, you are welcome to contact us.
Promotion & Interaction roles simply view our videos, interact with commenters, make suggestions, and generally help out. They also help by sharing and inviting others to be a part of ESV. They have access to a few additional features in the organization that our viewers do not. People in this role are just genuinely interested in doing a small part to help ESV succeed.
Recurring Panelists keep track of topics, help suggest new topics, talk with others and join our panels on specific topics that relate to them on a moderately regular basis. Recurring Panelists may be contacted on occasional topics that our team believes they may offer some valuable input on.
Shoulders are a smaller group of people who do all the acts of the Recurring Panelist, but make more of a commitment to the page as well as talk to other people who message ESV and be the ear, shoulder or voice to those who need it. They must commit to join the Shoulder Connection Group and stay relatively active. A Shoulder is required to do a small video interview upon acceptance of the application.
Lead Shoulders perform all of the above tasks and make a commitment to fill many spots needed on our show. They have a great ability to talk about virtually any topic, whether educated on it or not. They are highly active in all activities within the organization and reach out often to help others who are in need of an ear, shoulder or voice. They promote, talk with and share regularly. A Lead Shoulder is a promotion type of role from a standard Shoulder. You cannot apply to be a Lead Shoulder directly.
